Review of Palais Salam Taroudant, Morocco

Located just inside the ramparts of the Kasbah, Palais Salam is the only four-star hotel in Taroudant and one of the best hotels in town. This lovely hotel is the former residence of the pasha of Taroudant, a mainly 19th century Palace with parts going back to the 16th century.

Hotel Palais Salam has two wings within the complex. The old wing and palace rooms have a more authentic Moroccan feel, enclosing lush gardens and courtyards with cool fountains. Rooms or suites in the towers or garden pavillions are traditionally decorated in Moorish style, although many have now been refurbished to similar standards of the new wing. The more modern extension has a less Moroccan feel but rooms are more spacious and equipped with all modern comfort creatures. You can choose to stay at the smaller Riad I rooms, or the larger junior suites with a larger sitting and private balcony in Riad II.

Your dining experience at the Palais Salam includes an International restaurant serving world cuisine and the more intimate Roudana serving Moroccan cuisine. There is also a bar with a television serving a variety of cocktails and drinks.

Facilities include a hammam, fitness room and sauna.
