Review of Continental Hotel Tangier, Morocco
Hotel Continental was founded in 1865, with Queen Victoria’s son Alfred the first on its official guest list. Other notables who stayed here include Churchill and Degas.
Today, despite renovation, the Continental has a somewhat ragged feel. The rooms are spacious and quite comfy but are equally hot, musty and just about clean.
However, nothing can detract from the fantastic view of the port from its terrace. There is also added novelty in the attached bazaar where you can learn the process of haggling in Moroccan souks.
The Hotel Continental is an affordable place that has a unique character, great location and views. A few day beds and cushions and better lighting could take it to another level and make it more appealing to a wider European audience.
