Ouarzazate: Orientation, Arrival and Transport

Orientation in Ouarzazate in straightforward: the CTM bus station marks the centre of town and Avenue Mohammed V, on the east side, has the town’s main sight: Kasbah Taorirt.

CTM buses will stop at the CTM bus station right in the centre of town.

Private-line buses operate from the Mahta bus station, 2 kilometres northwest of town. To reach the centre of town from here, hire a petit taxi for around 15dh.

By Grand Taxi

Most grand taxis operate out of Mahta bus station, 2 kilometres outside town. Again, a petit taxi will take you to the centre from here for around 15 dh.

By Air

Ouarzazate’s Airport is 3 kilometres north of town, served by petit taxis for 15 – 20dh.

The tourist office in Ouarzazate is on Avenue Mohammed V, just across from the post office (PTT). Open Monday to Thursdays from 8:30 - 12:00 & 14:30 – 18:30 and Fridays from 8:30 – 11:30 & 15:00 – 18:30. Telephone: 044 88 24 85
