For a week Morocco Holidays

If you’re holidaying for a week in Morocco, then a good option is to hang out in the imperial cities of Fez or Marrakech. Both are firmly rooted in history, with a great deal of majestic palaces, old medinas and museums to enjoy. The souks are both big and varied making for a great shopping experience.

Fez or Marrakech need at least 3 nights to do them justice. For the remainder of what’s left of your week, you can have a day trip to nearby attractions.

In Fez, nearby Meknes is another great imperial city worth exploring and Volubilis, just outside Meknes, is one of the most important Roman settlements in North Africa. Or you could take a day trip to the Middle Atlas to explore the spectacular falls of the Cascades d’Ouzoud, or an extended excursion to the remote plateaux of l’Arid and the limestone gorge of Cirque du Jaffar.

In Marrakech, you could take a day trip into the High Atlas, to the Ourika Valley, Oukaimeden up to the Tizi-n-Tchika pass. Another easy day trip is to the falls of the Cascades d’Ouzoud or the great cavern of Imi-n-Ifli.
