Review of Dar Tah Tah Marrakech
Dar Tah Tah is a charming and well-managed small riad at the heart of the Medina. It is right at the thick of things, only a few minutes away from Djemaa el Fna and yards from the bustling souks, yet a heaven of tranquillity and peace.
Dar Tah Tah has elements of both French and Moroccan architecture, with fine Moroccan décor done by local artisans. There is a lovely small Lilliputian courtyard with a fountain and glass dome, a large well-appointed salon with fireplace and a roof-top terrace with fine views over the city.
Accommodation space comprises five neat and homely double rooms. Three bedrooms have air-conditioning and heating, while the remaining others are equipped with fans and heaters. The pick of the rooms are the large, first-floor family suite, with private 4 piece bathroom sleeping up to five people, and the second-floor twin-bedroom with a shaded private terrace.
Meals at Dar Tah Tah are prepared by Simo and Nazleh, both excellent Moroccan cooks. You can either leave it up to them or suggest your own meals. Note that breakfast (fresh orange juice, coffee, tea, bread/croissants/pancakes and a variety of fruits) is included, served on the roof-terrace, balcony or courtyard.
For outings and activities, owners David and Susie Scott are on hand to arrange overnight trekking in the High Atlas and desert excursions with experienced and reliable English-speaking guides.
