Review of Hotel Palmeraie Marrakech
Hotel Palmeraie is one of the better five-star hotels located in the palmery, a peaceful and quiet rural setting just outside Marrakech. The hotel offers an excellent set of luxury facilities and fine food, and was a favourite of Morocco’s late King, Hassan II.
The Palmeraie is a showroom of Moroccan craftsmanship, with its oasis of fountains, riads, breathtaking mosaics and ornate carved furniture. The individually air-conditionned rooms, well appointed with flourishes and arabesques, are equipped with all modern luxuries. All provide a marble bathroom, satellite TV, phone, wireless high-speed internet connection, minibar and a private balcony.
Dining at the Palmeraie is varied with eight restaurants showcasing local and international cuisine and a variety of bars, cocktail lounges and clubhouse venues. There are no less than five swimming pools, plus squash and tennis courts, riding stables, a bowling alley and a full-range healthclub offering numerous massage and beauty treatments.
Most importantly, the Palmeraie is set among its own 200 hectares of palms and indigenous foliage and features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert T. Jones. In total, there are five lakes, a putting green and driving range, with chauffeur-driven buggies and clubhouse offering drinks, lunches and views over the course.
