Fez, being a major tourist destination in Morocco, has a constant stream of tourists. As such, hotel space can be hard to come by especially during the mid-summer season. Be prepared for relatively higher than usual prices and always book a room ahead of your travel to the city.

Fes Hotels: Fes el Bali Hotels
The Fez hotels listed below are the best of both worlds: you will be staying in style and you will be at the heart of the Medina, well placed to explore the monuments and souks and sample the traditional way of life.
Unfortunately, your stay will not come cheap, although some of the riads listed offer very competitive prices that would suit even those with a tight budget.
Palais Jamai Fes
The most historic and famous hotel in Morocco, only rivalled by the Mamounia in Marrakech. An elegant nineteenth-century palace set in wonderful Andalusian gardens overlooking the Medina. Expect to pay top money for the experience of staying here!
Hotel les Merinides Fes
A five-star luxury hotel with stunning panoramic views over Fes el Bali, only rivalled by the famous Palais Jamai. It enjoys all the comfort creatures of a top-end hotel, yet it has retained much of its Moroccan feel and charm.
Fes Hotels: Fes Nouvelle Ville Hotels
Most of the hotels in Fez are concentrated in the Ville Nouvelle. They tend to be modern, comfortable and reliable when it comes to heating and water supply. The hotels in the Ville Nouvelle may miss on the fascination of Fes el Bali, but they are close to the restaurants and bars in town.
Hotel Menzeh Zalagh Fes
A former state owned hotel, now privatised and renovated to four-star standards. Great location with views across to Fes el Bali and Fes el Jedid. Rooms come with all modern amenities and tastefully decorated in Moroccan style. Own hammam and pool.
Hotel Sofia Fes
A modern four-star hotel frequented almost exclusively by tour-groups. The décor feels out of date, but decent comforts and facilities verging on the four-star, including two-restaurants, a pub and good service. Decently priced for a quality hotel.
