Review of Riad Les Oudayas Fes, Morocco
Riad les Oudayas is a beautifully restored riad, set in the youngest part of the Medina, a 5 minute walk from the Batha Museum. Designed in a style best described as Moroccan minimalism, the house avoids excess of detail, with pared-down furnishings, soothing colours and complementary combinations all creating an eye-catching, homely and stylish interior.
On the ground flour, clutter-free aesthetics and practicality prevail. The patio is open and light with plenty of lush vegetation and a plunge pool, salons provide plenty of nooks for private dining and there is a large library, bar and media centre.
The large seven suites – sleeping up to four people – are furnished with every comfort, along with a working fireplace for wintry nights and a private terrace giving onto the patio.
There is a dreamy hammam, a vaulted space of multiple domes and slender pillars, with luxuriously deep plunge pool and a furnished roof top terrace with panoramic views over the Medina.
