Review of Riad Ghita Fes, Morocco

Riad Ghita is a splendid guesthouse located in the famous district of R’cif, right by the entrance of the Medina. This 16th century palace, meticulously and faithfully renovated according to local traditions, offers a haven of comfort and tranquillity from the chaos and hive of activity in the Medina.

Owned and managed by a Moroccan team, Riad Ghita is decked out in true Moroccan style: antique-style furniture, plush gold and burgundy lounges, zellij and stucco walls, carved-cedar wood doors and ceilings and lots of blue and pink. This style extends to the seven suites and rooms of varying sizes, featuring traditional stained windows, authentic tiled bathrooms and furnishings covered in local fabrics.

Guests spend their time in the balmy courtyard with a retractable sun roof but the focal point is the rooftop terrace with spectacular views over the Medina. An in-house restaurant serves up traditional Moroccan cuisine.
