Review of Dar Anebar Fes, Morocco
Dar Anebar is a beautiful guesthouse located inside the old Fez walls, a stones throw away from the famous Palais Jamaï. The homely riad boasts a roof terrace, unintrusive service, fine food, and numerous nooks and crannies.
An artisan wooden door welcomes you to the former family home of Ahmed Azami, meticulously restored to provide every comfort in stylish and authentic surroundings. The result is certainly captivating: a feeling of elegance and refinement warmly welcomes you, reflecting the traditional lifestyle of Fez and Morocco. The spacious courtyard features an earthy colour scheme characterised by zellij tiling and Marrakchi-ochre tadelakt walls that continues throughout the riad.
Riad Dar Anebar offers you a variety of room sizes and configurations. All the rooms are stylishly furnished and include nice welcoming touches, such as flowers, a fruit basket, and chocolates on the pillows. Each room is equipped with a bath tub, TV, mini bar and air conditioner. There are also three living rooms of different colors – straw yellow, blue and green -, each one opening on the patio with a central fountain.
A Moroccan restaurant offers a taste of local Fez and Moroccan cuisine. A delicious breakfast consisting of a wide variety of local homemade product is served on request in the inner courtyard, in your room or on the terrace overlooking the ancient city.
The owner Ahmed Azami and his staff are the consummate professionals and are always around to help guests negotiate the medina, find a guide, or head out on day trips.
