Review of Dar Al Andalous Fes, Morocco

Dar al Andalous is a charming Arabo-Andalousian riad at the heart of Fez Medina, located just a few minutes from the Beb Boujloud gate. The Andalusian style 20th century Fessi palace was completely remodelled into a guesthouse in 2002 by incorporating the most modern conveniences while ensuring that the original character and charm were maintained. Luxurious appointments, a warm Moroccan welcome and a genuine desire to help visitors to discover the wonders of Fez, help the charming hosts and their efficient staff; make your stay a truly memorable one.

Guests of Dar al Andalous can enjoy traditional surroundings, which were once family accommodation, that are accented with modern amenities. The original interior design with its elaborate mosaics, perfectly curved shapes and daedal carvings is punctuated with lovely details like white candles and lush green plants. Delicate and airy fabrics, intensives colours, and modern designer furniture give the Riad an atmosphere which couldn’t be more suitable for a romantic vacation in Fez.

The riad has a total of twelve rooms and suites, all tastefully decorated and furnished in traditional and modern style. Each room holds its own features to ensure a personalised stay: some have antique stained glass windows and others feature a private terrace or bathroom equipped with Jacuzzi.

In addition, Dar Al Andalous features a magnificent terrace, a traditional steam bath with massage (Hammam) and a cosy lounge with open fireplace. The in-house restaurant, the Al Fassia restaurant, offers guest with exquisite dishes based on the traditional Fez cuisine. Amateur cooks can also sign up for a cooking course at the Riad to disclose the secrets of the famous Fassi art of cooking.
