Agadir: Orientation, Arrival and Transport
The centre of Agadir, rebuilt in the 1960s after the earthquake, is located on the junction of Boulevard Hassan II and Avenue Prince Moulay Abdallah. The town hall, office blocks, tourist office and shops are all located here.
The bus station and most of the budget hotels are located northeast from here in an area called Talborjt. The fancier hotels, shops and restaurants are located parallel to the beach, along Boulevard du 20 Aout, Boulevard Mohammed V and Boulevard Hassan II.
Arrival in Agadir
Long-distance buses will drop you off at the bus station situated on Rue Yacoub Al Mansour, in the Talborjt area of town. Exception for Supratours buses which depart from Rue des Oranges, off Boulevard Hassan II.
By Grand Taxi
As anywhere else in Morocco, taxis are two kinds in Agadir. There are petit (or small) taxis, painted orange insured for three passengers, operate within the town limits. Fares are metered.
Grand (or large) taxis, painted blue and insured for six passengers, operate within the town and for long-distance travel. The fare is fixed and divided amongst the passengers. Grand taxis operate from Place Salem.
Tourist Office in Agadir
The ONMT tourist office is located in the centre of Agadir, just opposite the post office off Avenue Sidi Mohammed. It is open Mondays to Thursdays from 8:30 – Noon & 14:30 – 18:00 and Fridays from 8:30 – 11:30 & 15:00 – 18:30. Telephone: 048 84 63 77.
Another alternative is the Syndicat d’Initiative, along Boulevard Mohammed V. open Mondays to Fridays from 9:00 – Noon & 15:00 – 18:00 and Saturdays from 9:30 – Noon. Telephone: 048 82 18 21.
