Review of Club Med Agadir, Morocco
In the heart of Agadir, this medina-style resort is situated in beautiful surroundings of oleanders and eucalyptus. Everything in this Village is a reflection of the atmosphere and colours of Morocco, from the newly renovated rooms in traditional style and the zellij-decorated fountains and patios to the locally sourced artefacts are sprinkled higgledy-piggledy throughout. With a five and a half mile stretch of beach, gardens with an ornamental pond on site and fun activities Club Med Agadir is now a much sought-after high-end hot spot for families seeking an indulgent and stress-free break.
Between the beach and the lush gardens is where you’ll find the Moorish-style bungalow accommodation, comprising 374 rooms divided into two categories: Club Rooms and Deluxe Rooms. Club Rooms are elegantly decorated rooms on the ground floor of the bungalows, with a choice of a shared, furnished terrace, on the garden or sea side, or a family-style room with two separate bedrooms, including one with bunk beds for children. Deluxe Rooms offers more space and comfort, with a delightfully furnished terrace, on the first or second floor of the bungalows with garden or sea view.
Club Med Agadir has numerous restaurants and bars dotted throughout the complex. The gastronomic offerings are pretty overwhelming in both choice and volume, from typical Moroccan specialties in local décor to international cuisine. There are four different bars and a snack bar offering drinks and refreshments throughout the day.
The daily existence of the village is dedicated to sports and activities for kids and grown-ups alike. The Village has four levels of child care. Baby Club Med is for 4-23 month olds, Petit Club Med is for 2-3 year olds, Mini Club Med is for 4-10 year olds, and Juniors’ Club Med is for 11-17 year olds. Each one includes supervision and activities vary upon the age group. In addition, those aged eight and over can benefit from golf tuition on some world class courses, while the ranch offers horse-riding for children and adults, no matter their level. Other activities include outdoor tennis, golf, boating, outdoor pool, and beach access.
If you still want more, the Discovery Centre has several optional excursions available. These include a visit to Agadir, travelling to Assaka by four wheel drive vehicle, off road travel in Berber country and visits to other nearby cities. The resort has something for everyone, whether you’re single, married, or married with a family.
